Seafight: Watch out for your ships

Ahoy Pirates,
Unfortunately, now and again some of you click on the wrong thing when buying a ship and lose its Elite design. Until now, we've been fairly accommodating when it comes to reversing these mistakes, but it has also often been the case that pirates have used clever image processing to incorporate designs that they are not entitled to.
From now on, please take more care when clicking as in we will not restore the lost ship design if you have made an incorrect purchase or wrongly clicked.
Please pay special attention not to accidentally gain a ship for gold or to click "repair" too hastily, otherwise you may carelessly lose your hard-earned Elite ships or designs. If this occurs, you will have to get a new ship or design. Before buying a ship, there will be a clear warning about what the effects of a new purchase are.
Please do not take this action as anything malicious on our part. We simply want to avoid that ships can be gained for gold during a fight and then later called a “mistake” with a request for a restore. This has become an increasing problem, and that is why we are issuing this message.
All future requests in the forum, by E-mail, etc. for a restore will be referred back to this thread/news. We hope you continue to enjoy playing Seafight with this fairer rule.

Seafight: What is the bazaar?

Auctions and Buy now purchases at the bazaar
Seafight offers you a whole lot of equipment, ammunition, and weapons which you can use for your game. Many objects are available in different levels - the higher the level, the more effective the object is when you use it.
Of course, the better the object is, the more expensive it is. At the bazaar you can still get the items for a good price - and you might even find a real bargain. There are two ways to get the items you want at a bazaar:
1. The auction
You can bid on any item - at the end of each full hour, the winners of each auction receive the items they bid on.
Tip: The more players there are online, the higher the bids will go. Therefore it is a strategic factor when you decide to enter an auction.
Notice: Every bid includes a risk - because the amount you bid will be deducted from your account whether you win the bid or not.
2. Buy it now
With a Buy it now purchase, you can receive every item right away for pearls - the advantage: you don't lose anything when somebody snatches the object away from you, and in many cases you can even specify how many of the item you wish to buy.

New in the Seafight Jackpot Battle
Ahoy Pirates,
We are constantly working on improving the battle system so you can have the most fun possible with it. For this reason, the next Jackpot Battle will have a few rules changed.
The following will be different for the next Battle:
- Points for the ranking will be awarded in the future only for sinking other players (40,000 points per sunken opponent in the PvP). For NPC’s there will continue to be one ranking point for each hitpoint destroyed.
- Points for sinking will only be awarded when the sea chart is a Level 6 map or higher.
- Members of your own guild are no longer able to be attacked.
- Leaving your own guild during the Jackpot Battle will not be possible.
- No points will be deducted for lost hitpoints.
We hope that these changes will help you enjoy the battle more, and that you have a lot of fun in the coming Jackpot Battle!

The long awaited Jackpot battle took place last Sunday. We have a winner!

The good old ship’s mate has been overhauled! In the future, he will repair around the clock and he’ll be almost 3x faster than the current mate!
How can you hire one of these new improved mates? It’s easy! We’ve already exchanged your old mate for the new one. ;-)
One click and the mate repairs around the clock for you – until you’re attacked or you cancel the repairs. We hope you have a lot of fun with your new crew member!

To make the game more comfortable for you, as of today we have some new country maps. We have added:
- Polish map (Server location Europe – Language: Polish)
- Scandinavian map (Server location Europe – Languages: Finnish, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian)
- Spanish map (Server location America – Language: Spanish)
- Global map 2 (Server location America – Languages: all)

When the first warm rays of sun arrive, it’s time to hoist your Jolly Roger – It’s time for an adventure! If you’re still cowering under deck like a cowardly landlubber, you’re beyond help.
A little rain can’t stop you. It’s the other way around: the wind will drive you forward! From the 26th to the 27th of April, try to find the sun treasures at the end of the rainbow – they contain valuable riches.

Seafight Jackpot Battle winners

Ahoy me mates!
yesterday two players cleaned us out! We repeated the Jackpot Battle from November and hat an all-time first: two players were able to win.
We had a 10,000 Euro winner and a $10,000 winner. On the global map, the player "...beamy-dragon..." won, and on the American map it was "Tankcom".
We congratulate both of you on your victories and wish everyone the best of luck for next time around.
The next battle will be on January 20, 2008; this time, there will only be one winner.

since yesterday, new NPCs have been lurking around the Level 1 chart. They belong to Blackbeard's pirate gang and are an exceedingly peaceful group - as long as you pirates leave them alone....

The duration of the battle will be reduced from 24 hours to 6 hours, and will take place as usual on the last Sunday of the month.

The February and March Jackpot Battles will be repeated most likely at the end of April. We'll let you know in the next few weeks exactly when, and also provide you with any necessary details.
